First, we have masks. I currently have the Una Brennan Super Facialist Anti-blemish mask and purifying mask. You can see my full review of these here. They are very similar clay masks that both do the job of deep cleansing and removing excess oil. They also contain salicylic acid which is brilliant for reducing/ getting rid of spots. Then we have the Peaches and Clean face wash by Soap and Glory, which I actually use a mask. I got this idea from MissBudgetBeauty. Since it has fruit acids in it (basically chemical exfoliants that smooth the skin), it has more effect if you leave it on for a little while than if you were to use it as a face wash. My skin reacts really well to ingredients like that but I would approach with caution if you have sensitive skin as it does leave my skin a little pink after I've left it on for 10 minutes or so.
Next is facial oil. I have the Clarins Lotus oil, which is actually designed for oily skin and seems to really hydrate without being too heavy and greasy. I like to use this after I've used a deep cleansing mask as it puts the moisture back into my skin. I also have a deluxe sample size of the Josie Maran 100% Argan Oil light to try, which I'm imagining will do the similar job, but I'll report back on that one.
My skin is quite blemish prone at times, particularly at a certain time of the month! I therefore have 2 products that more more specifically directed at spot treatment. Garnier Pure Active spot fighting moisturiser is a light gel moisturiser with salicylic acid. I only really like to use this if I have spots/blemishes over a large area of my face. If it's just one or 2 spots, I will use the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Rapid Clear Treatment. This is a clear gel that really helps to reduce the size of spots overnight.
That's it for my skincare routine! Are there any products you'd recommend for oily/ blemish prone skin?
